COPCon XIV is in the books! The weather was mild. The Covid stats were (getting more) favourable. And amazingly, the event marked the 5th anniversary of COPCon. Pretty exciting times!
Some of the Brothers of Fire’s finest were joined by Mitja, all the way from the Brewers’ Tavern, for our first meet-up of 2022.

Karl A stormed to victory with this 5c ‘Robots of Death’ list, based on Alban’s Fishliver list from recent times. Karl’s second win from the last three COPCons – very impressive stuff indeed! And the deck is a real looker to boot! But maybe another COP Artifacts for his Sideboard will slow him down a little moving forwards!

Mitja was in town, so we were taking full advantage, trading our hearts out inbetween rounds. Certain global events have limited our scope for international guests recently, so this was a particularly special treat, which easily scooped our Spirit of COPCon award! Our prize card this time was kindly donated by Brother Patrick, and was pre-signed by Mark Tedin. The OG!

This was the final COPCon for Brother Jordan before he departs for the Netherlands. He’ll be missed around these parts, but with two Old School Magic World Cup victories, and his fingerprints all over at least one archetype in the OS meta, it’s safe to say he’s used his time here to great effect. Fingers crossed he’s able to visit us later this year!
After the battles were lost and won – we moved onto the pleasantries and a biggie, as were proud to annoint Brother Stephen with a backpatch!

Richly deserved – Stephen has been a stalwart in the London community since late 2019 – and we’re very lucky to have him amongst our number. Now the only question is what shade of denim or flavour of waistcoat will he pick!?
